The course aims to teach proposal writing by focusing on the vital components that comprise a research proposal and introducing the skills and components needed to do it effectively.

Block I. Introduction and Problem Statement

An overview of the various components of a research proposal detailing problem identification, background, rational, justification and significance of the proposal. Set research questions, objectives and hypothesis.

Block II. Achieving Objectives through Research Designs

Divided into two sections:
Section 1: Quantitative Research Methodology
Briefly explain quantitative research designs, sampling techniques and sample size. Introduce data collection methods and tools used in quantitative research.
Section 2: Data Analysis in Quantitative Research
Focus on data analysis methods and schemes that respond to the different quantitative research methodologies including descriptive and advanced statistic.

Block III. Organizing and Managing Research activities

Focus on setting a relevant time plan for the different activities of the research project, address the distribution of responsibilities among the research team members and teaching trainees the general format of budget estimation.

Block IV. Ethics of Research

Review and apply the principles of research ethics and ethical conduct of research. Introduce trainees to the main principles of writing an informed consent.
