The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) calls on policymakers, academics, civic leaders, youth, families and relevant stakeholders, to join us in our upcoming international conference on “Family Wellbeing: Measuring What Matters”, which will take place on October 11-12, 2026, in Doha, Qatar. The sixth edition of the DIFI Conference, commemorating DIFI’s 20th year anniversary, will engage with and discuss four interlinked and interrelated dimensions of family wellbeing.
The four key pillars are:
- Foundations: The material and structural conditions that support family life and protect them against risk. They enable families to function, plan and withstand shocks.
- Relationships: The relational environment in which families operate. It focuses on the quality and stability of relationships within families and between their communities.
- Purpose: The families lived experience. It reflects how families perceive their circumstances, manage pressure, and draw meaning and strength from religion, values and beliefs.
- Culture: The cultural and symbolic dimensions that shape a family’s sense of belonging and continuity. It reflects the inherited systems of values, language and meaning that shape how families interpret and organize their lives across generations.
