Dr. Sharifa Al-Emadi Meets Iraqi Parliament Speaker to Discuss Family Support Cooperation

As part of the efforts of the Republic of Iraq to strengthen the social and legislative framework for families and deepen regional and international cooperation in this field, Dr. Sharifa Al-Emadi, Executive Director of DIFI, received an official invitation from the Iraqi Parliament. The invitation was attended by a delegation from the institute and Naufar Hospital. During the visit, Dr. Al-Emadi met with the Speaker of the Parliament, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, in the presence of the Charge d’Affaires at the Qatari Embassy in Iraq and the heads of the relevant parliamentary committees.
The meeting aimed to explore ways to cooperate in supporting families, enhancing knowledge-based social policies, and exchanging experiences between the two sides. One of the key topics discussed was the national “Tanshee’ah” program implemented in Qatar’s schools.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani emphasized the importance of partnerships with leading research institutions, as they provide studies and policies that contribute to strengthening and stabilizing families. He stressed that family protection is a legislative priority for the Iraqi Parliament.
For her part, Dr. Sharifa Al-Emadi expressed her pride in receiving the invitation and confirmed the institute’s readiness to expand cooperation with Iraqi research institutions focusing on family issues, as well as developing family policies based on evidence and field data. The two sides also discussed the possibility of developing long-term partnerships to improve the situation of Arab Iraqi families in various fields.
