DIFI Funds and Initiates Comprehensive Book on Arab Family Studies

Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) - a member of Qatar Foundation (QF) – has initiated and fubnded a book on Arab family studies containing the contributions of 28 eminent scholars, with the aim of addressing the gap in global knowledge on the Arab family.
The book, titled ‘Arab Family Studies, Critical Review’ – which is edited by Dr. Suad Joseph, Distinguished Research Professor of Anthropology and Gender, and Women's Studies, at the University of California, and published by Syracuse University - was initiated and funded by DIFI in 2013.

DIFI and QNRF Award Grants for Arab Parenthood Research Through OSRA Program

Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) and Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), both members of Qatar Foundation (QF), have awarded grants to three research proposals that address emerging issues affecting the wellbeing of the Arab family, under their jointly-funded OSRA grant program.

DIFI Holds an Expert Group Meeting With ESCWA to discuss Family-Sensitive Social Protection (FSSP)

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has held a consultation meeting on Family-Sensitive Social Protection (FSSP) in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
The meeting, which took place in Doha from June 26-27, resulted from a joint project between DIFI and ESCWA to develop and promote a focus on families in social protection. Evidence has shown that social protection programs can strengthen the capacity of families to care for their children and remove barriers to accessing services, while reaching those that are most vulnerable.

DIFI Hosts open forum titled ‘Political Participation and Arab Women as Agents of Change’

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), is to hold an open forum titled ‘Political Participation and Arab Women as Agents of Change’ on 11 March, in celebration of International Women’s Day in Qatar.

The event, organized in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Humanities & Social Sciences, will include a panel discussion on the rationale, challenges, and opportunities of women in parliament in the Arab region and will explore the social barriers to women’s political participation. In addition, the forum, to be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre, will open the floor to topics such as Qatari women in parliament and the impact of their representation in influencing policy-making.
