UN NGO Committee on the Family – Inaugural Meeting Participation

DIFI, represented by Dr. Ahmed Aref, Director of the Family Research and Policy Department, participated in the inaugural meeting of the UN NGO Committee on the Family in Geneva. During the meeting, DIFI highlighted practical and conceptual frameworks for family well-being, cohesion, and protection, emphasizing them as key priorities across national, regional, and international policy and practice.  

Objectives and Outcomes

  • Emphasized the importance of family well-being, cohesion, and protection in global policy discussions.
  • Highlighted the need to integrate family-focused perspectives within international policy agendas.
  • Strengthened DIFI’s engagement and visibility across international platforms and forums.
  • Contributed to shaping the Committee’s priorities and reinforcing DIFI’s role in advancing family-centered approaches at national, regional, and international levels.
