Bio :Maryam Nemazee
Maryam is a news anchor, broadcaster, and journalist who has worked in Europe, America, the Middle East, and Asia. She covers global news and international politics with a strong focus on the Middle East.
During her time at Al Jazeera English, she has anchored news programs, debates, podcasts, and long-form documentaries. She has been on-air for many of the major breaking stories of the past decade, including the wars in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Ukraine, and Gaza. She has also attended and covered prestigious events such as the G20 summit of world leaders and the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.
Previously, Maryam was a London-based anchor and correspondent for Bloomberg Television. During the peak of the global financial crisis, she hosted the prime-time morning program and led field coverage of the American and French presidential elections.
Maryam was part of the launch team for Al Jazeera English and was on-air during the first 24 hours of the channel’s news coverage. Born and raised in London, she is a graduate of the University of Durham and City University.
