The Objective: In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the International Year of the Family (IYF+30) and Family Day in Qatar, the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) is organizing a dialogue on “As They Raised Me From Childhood: Specialized Programs to Better Parenting”, to shed light on issues related to supporting and empowering families.

Discussion Topics: Parenting programs are considered a vital foundation for building a better future for our children and ensuring their healthy development. The dialogue will address the importance of parental engagement with their children by providing a supportive and nurturing environment, focusing on several aspects:

1.The importance of parents as guides and role models: How can parents be effective guides for their children by providing positive examples and ideal values?
2.Highlighting the role of parents in shaping personality and ethical values.
3.Enhancing communication and interaction: Emphasizing the effectiveness of good communication and active listening in understanding children’s needs and encouraging their interaction to build healthy relationships between parents and their children.
4.Developing life skills: How can parenting programs contribute to the development of children’s essential life skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and building self-confidence?
5.Challenges of parenting in the digital era: Discuss the challenges parents face in raising their children in the rapidly advancing technological era and how parenting programs can guide children in using technology responsibly.
6.Encouraging understanding and appreciation of diversity: The importance of promoting understanding and respect for cultural and social diversity, and how parents can contribute to raising tolerant and open-minded children.
7.Stimulating curiosity and continuous learning: How can parenting programs stimulate children’s curiosity and desire for continuous learning, contributing to the development of their mental skills and abilities?
This dialogue aims to achieve several key objectives:
